  • Math IR Symposium at MIR 2012

The Math IR Symposium is a traditional-style workshop with scientific contributions about mathematics information retrieval. Topics include but not limited to:

    • MIR systems design and descriptions
    • requirements for mathematics information retrieval: use cases and typical queries
    • formula normalization, similarity, indexing and search algorithms
    • mathematics retrieval corpora preparation and tagging
    • semantically enhancing mathematical corpora for IR (from math OCR or presentation MathML in DML)
    • extracting semantic relations from corpora.
    • evaluation of MIR (methods and test corpora)

    Submission and Author Instructions

    Via Easychair system.

Submissions are either paper, talk or system description. For talks an abstract is sufficient (it may be MIR system description, or discussion topic). Papers should be in LNCS format (llncs.cls from Manuscript guidelines at www.springer.com/authors). The Symposium has electronic online preproceedings (see links from programme page). Archival reviewed postconference versions of papers will appear in yellow series of DML proceedings, published by Masaryk University. Authors should follow LNCS instructions and submit their updated version by August 31st, 2012.

    Programme

was mix of informal talks, final or work-in-progress papers and MIR systems descriptions. We had one invited videolecture about Mathematical Search in addition to ten submitted contributions.
